Charlotte Pump Station
John W. Danforth Company’s experience in sewage treatment system installation and refurbishment was key to providing an integrated solution for a pumping station in Rochester, NY. Monroe County’s Charlotte Sewage Pumping Station was in need of upgrades and John W. Danforth Company worked with Lu Engineers to ensure success on this pumping station’s processing power of 4,900 gallons per minute. This upgrade included:
- New sewage pumps with variable frequency drives
- Sump pumps
- Air relief systems
- Sluice and slide gate replacement
- A new sewage grinder
- Flow metering
- Surge relief
- New process piping
Among the project challenges overcome by Danforth specialists was the insertion of a flow meter into a high density polyethylene force main.
