General Motors Corporation
One of Western New York's largest private employers has been a "mainstay" customer for the John W. Danforth Company. Danforth's involvement in the L850 engine addition, completed in 1998, included boiler installations, air handling unit energy conservation measures, coolant/filtration system upgrades and utility piping installation. Danforth worked on all facets of the new 560,000 square foot Inline 4/5 Engine Plant which is to be completed in 2003. The Washington Group, General Motor's construction manager, has selected Danforth to install the building HVAC system, over 100,000 feet of utility piping, as well as a stand-alone Utility Facilities Services building. This will provide the new engine plant with 7,200 gallons per minute of chilled water and process 225,000 gallons of waste water per day.
