St. Teresa of Avila

St. Teresa of AvilaThe St. Teresa of Avila parish, located in Akron, New York, serves as both a church and center for religious education. Danforth was responsible for installing the air conditioning system in the chapel, a steam to hot water heating system conversion that included high efficiency boilers, separating the school from the church and replacing all existing fin radiation in the chapel as well as the classrooms. The commercial boilers provide the owner with an annual fuel usage reduction of approximately 30%. When air conditioning a church it is imperative that the system be as discreet as possible thus prohibiting the use of exposed ductwork. Danforth addressed the issue by strategically placing eight ductless systems throughout the church so as not to change the aesthetics.
