PROPER PLANNING IS KEY TO GETTING THE JOB DONE RIGHT!

We all know that proper planning can save you time and money. At John W. Danforth Company, our CADD department is the hub of our project planning process. Working in coordination with many departments within John W. Danforth Company, our CADD department can ensure that your project is completed in the best way possible.

CADD(an acronym for Computer Aided Design and Drafting),is used throughout the engineering process from conceptual design and layout, through detailed engineering and analysis of components to definition of manufacturing methods.

CADD is an integral part of the job planning process. Using specialized calculation packages, pre-existing component drawings, graphical images such as maps, photos and other media, or simply from hand-drawn sketches done by the designer our CADD operators use the most up-to-date CAD software to meld all the relevant components together to produce drawings and specifications which can then be used to estimate quantities of materials, determine the cost of the project, and ultimately provide the detailed drawings necessary to build it.

No matter where you are in the project lifecycle John W. Danforth Company’s CADD designers convey vision of the design with powerful visualization tools. Using the latest AutoCad software, our team can expose any flaws early in the design process—before they can become problematic.

In one recent project coordinating with our in-house Fab Shop, our CADD team was able to design pre-assembled boiler skids, which were delivered to the jobsite then installed. This unique solution is just one example of Danforth’s ability to think out of the box and stay on the cutting edge.
