Balancing

Did you ever wonder why it’s hot in one area of your building and cold in another?

Have you ever experienced?

  • Complaints from tenants, employees, or customers
  • High energy costs
  • Hot or cold areas
  • Ventilation or exhaust problems

Today’s building owners and tenants are more concerned than ever that their heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are performing the way they were designed. These goals can best be accomplished when Air Balancing and Water Balancing are performed and a system is properly balanced. Maintaining an efficient work environment results in increased productivity of employees as well as higher sales and lower costs. The three major steps used to achieve the proper operation of the HVAC and Hydronic systems and a desirable climate are testing, adjusting and balancing.

In many of the buildings, hot or cold water is used in conjunction with an air system to properly regulate the conditions of a specific area. Since there is a correlation between the two, not only is air balancing necessary but also the water balancing (hydronics) so as to get the most efficient operation of the system as a whole.
