Bethune Loft Conversion Services

Danforth was awarded the Design & Build contract to convert the old Buffalo Meter Shop into a six story luxury apartment building located in downtown Buffalo, NY. Each of the 87 units are equipped with separate vertical hybrid heat pumps with forced air heating and air conditioning as well as Danforth fabricated spiral duct.

Danforth did the design, HVAC, plumbing, controls, commissioning and balancing for this project. Our Team installed a 9,600 CFM make-up air unit, closed circuit cooling tower, two condensing boilers, VFD drives, DDC controls, domestic hot water booster pump and 87 stainless steel sinks and faucets. Danforth also installed all the associated piping needed for the HVAC and plumbing systems.

The Project Team overcame several challenges during construction. The Team expertly configured the mechanicals to reach all corners of the building stemming from a single mechanical room in the basement. By utilizing high efficiency equipment with a comprehensive control system, the project achieved a LEED Certified Silver rating.
