Danforth LEED Office Building – Rochester, NY

John W. Danforth Company’s office building, located outside of Rochester, NY, is one of the first LEED registered facilities in Ontario County. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings.

Our building meets all Danforth’s office, warehouse, and fabrication needs for our Central New York operations. The building’s high performance design results in a projected reduction of energy consumption of over 35%, and through an intensive design process, reduces the environmental impact of our facility.

A few of the green design components incorporated into the Danforth building include:

  • In-floor radiant heat throughout the facility
  • Low flow fixtures for water conservation
  • Recycled and locally manufactured building materials
  • Night Sky Compliant exterior lighting to reduce light pollution
  • Enhanced Commissioning
  • Additional glazing to increase natural day-lighting
  • DDC control systems for interior comfort
  • Green roof
  • Low VOC paints, carpet, and sealants
