Larkin Exchange Building Mechanical Contract
The Larkin at Exchange Building (known as the LCO Building) was built in 1912. This 600,000 square foot building, located in downtown Buffalo was purchased by CityView Properties in June 2002. The company invested approximately $40 million dollars in the rehabilitation of the building.
Danforth was an integral part of the rehabilitation with contracts totaling over $6,000,000. Danforth provided HVAC, Plumbing and Design-Build services for tenant build-outs on various floors. Stairwell air pressurization was also addressed, to meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
Danforth has completed build-out for several LCO Building tenants including: Kaleida Health, US Customs, and First Niagara Financial Group. Danforth also completed work on a ventilation system serving the secure area and vault for US Customs. In 2006, the building was occupied at near capacity and has proven to be a successful reclamation of existing city buildings.
