West Seneca Energy Performance Contract

The Town of West Seneca was faced with an aging infrastructure and limited capital funds to make the needed, but costly, improvements. Constant repairs and lack of efficiency in the community’s facilities, sewer and electrical systems led the town to seek out a partner to implement an energy performance contract and address their ongoing concerns.

Danforth was selected as the town’s energy performance contracting partner and conducted a town-wide energy audit that resulted in a $9.45 million program that rebuilt the town’s ice rink, repaired sewer system pump stations and piping, replaced interior and exterior lighting and retrofitted or replaced HVAC systems. West Seneca was able to leverage utility and operational savings guaranteed by Danforth to completely offset the cost of the improvements. The innovative solution was co-authored with town representatives to ensure that the final result addressed specific targets that were most important to the town.

Danforth’s ability to self perform most of the facility improvement measures enabled the town to maximize the scope of the project and benefit to their taxpayers while completing the project on an accelerated schedule.
